What a phenomenal weekend we experienced at the U12 Holland Elite Hockey Cup during Easter weekend, organized by Holland Elite Sports Agency! A tournament full of surprises, with Surbiton Hockey Club from England exceeding all expectations and taking home the trophy.

From the start, the tension was palpable. Although the home team, HC Den Bosch, entered the tournament with high expectations, they were eliminated in the group stage. This opened the door wide for international sensations: Waterloo Ducks from Belgium and Surbiton Hockey Club. Surbiton, with an impressive mix of talent and perseverance, advanced to the semi-finals as group winners and secured their place in the final with a solid 2-0 victory against THC Hurley.

On the other side of the bracket, Waterloo Ducks caused a surprise by defeating MHC Bennebroek, the favorite from Group B. This resulted in an entirely international final, a first for the tournament.

The final was a breathtaking spectacle, with both teams giving nothing away. After regular time ended in a 1-1 draw, it was the nerve-wracking shoot-outs that decided the outcome. Surbiton HC showed unparalleled coolness and skill, thus clinching the victory.

This magnificent tournament showcased the beauty of youth hockey. The modern facilities provided the perfect stage for   these young athletes to shine. Despite a heavy rain shower at the end of the first day, nothing could dampen the sporting   joy. All teams returned home with their heads held high, especially Surbiton, who, with the biggest smile and the trophy   securely in place, took the ferry back to England.

We look back on an unforgettable weekend full of sporting highlights, friendship, and fair play.  The U12 Holland Elite   Hockey  Cup has once again proven to be one of the highlights on the youth hockey calendar. Congratulations to Surbiton   Hockey Club, a worthy winner, and a heartfelt thank you to all the teams, volunteers, and supporters who made this event   so  special.
