At Holland Elite, we are incredibly proud that Raoul Ehren and Sjoerd Marijne, both co-founders of Holland Elite, have been appointed as head coach and assistant coach of the Dutch Women’s Hockey Team, the current Olympic Champions.
Raoul Ehren is best known for his legendary tenure with the women of HC Den Bosch, where he served as head coach from 2009 to 2020. During this period, the team dominated the sport, winning nine national titles and seven European Cups. Raoul carried this winning mentality into his role as Belgium’s national coach. Over the past two years, he transformed the Red Panthers, guiding them from 12th to 3rd place in the world rankings and winning European Championship silver.
Sjoerd Marijne brings an equally remarkable resume. In 2021, he was named FIH Coach of the Year for his work with the Indian Women’s Hockey Team. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, he led India to an historic 4th place finish. While the team narrowly missed out on a medal, Sjoerd achieved something even greater: he won the hearts of 1.3 billion Indians, inspiring an entire nation.
Together, Raoul and Sjoerd form a dynamic and experienced duo, poised to take Oranje to new heights. Their shared focus is on the 2026 World Cup, with the ultimate goal of success at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Everyone at Holland Elite is immensely proud and wishes them the best of luck in this exciting new chapter!
