Knights, the last time in the Netherlands

Holland Elite Welcomes the Knights Girls for an Elite Hockey Tour and Tournament Experience in the Netherlands

Holland Elite is delighted to welcome a specially selected girls team from South Africa to the Netherlands this April, as the Knights arrive for a unique five-day experience that combines an elite international hockey tour with participation in one of our flagship youth events: the Holland Elite Hockey Cup Eindhoven U12.

This carefully designed programme perfectly reflects what Holland Elite stands for: high-level competition, outstanding organization and cultural enrichment. With everything arranged from arrival to departure, the Knights’ visit is a textbook example of how a modern elite sports tour should look.

Elite Hockey Meets Cultural Discovery in Amsterdam and Eindhoven

The Knights’ journey begins in Amsterdam, where sport and culture come together from the very first day. After arriving at Schiphol Airport, the team settles into Stayokay Amsterdam Oost, located in one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

Rather than rushing straight into competition mode, the opening phase of the tour is intentionally designed to help the players acclimatise, bond as a group, and experience Dutch culture. Cycling through Amsterdam’s historic city centre, exploring local streets, and enjoying time together off the field all play an essential role in building team chemistry and confidence ahead of the tournament days.

The second day adds a true highlight to the cultural programme with a visit to De Efteling, one of Europe’s most iconic theme parks. This balance between sport and experience is a core element of every Holland Elite tour: young athletes perform best when they also have the space to enjoy, relax, and create memories that last far beyond the final whistle.

The Competitive Heart: Knights take part in the Holland Elite Hockey Cup Eindhoven U12

After the cultural opening, the focus shifts fully to performance as the Knights travel to Eindhoven for the main sporting objective of the trip: competing at the Holland Elite Hockey Cup Eindhoven U12.

This international tournament brings together top U12 girls’ teams from the Netherlands, England and Belgium, creating a truly elite competitive environment. Over the course of two intense matchdays, each team plays six matches in the span of two days, facing a variety of playing styles and tactical approaches that challenge and accelerate development.

All matches are hosted at HC Oranje-Rood, one of the Netherlands’ top hockey clubs. The venue offers exceptional facilities, including three top-quality water-based pitches. One of these pitches is also used by the club’s men’s and women’s first teams in the Dutch top league, underlining the elite setting in which the tournament takes place.

For the Knights, this means competing on the same surfaces used by some of Europe’s best players. This will be an inspiring and motivating experience for young athletes who are already carefully selected to represent their programme at the highest level.

A Tour Designed for Performance and Experiences

Friendly match, the Knights

While the Knights do not have separate training sessions scheduled during this tour, the tournament itself provides an ideal performance environment. Short, intense matches against elite opposition allow players to apply their skills under pressure, adapt quickly, and grow with every game.

Behind the scenes, Holland Elite ensures that everything runs smoothly. The team stays at Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven, a four-star hotel located within walking distance of the tournament venue. This eliminates unnecessary travel stress and allows players and staff to fully focus on recovery and preparation between matches.

High-quality sports meals are provided daily, transportation is carefully planned, and a Holland Elite tour manager is present 24/7, acting as a single point of contact for logistics, scheduling, and support. From airport transfers to match schedules and evening meals, every detail is handled with precision and care.

More Than a Tournament: A Complete International Experience

What makes this tour truly unique is its hybrid character. It is not “just” a tournament trip, and it is not “just” a cultural tour, it is the combination of both.

During their stay, the Knights will experience elite international competition against top-level opponents, while playing at world-class hockey facilities. Alongside the sporting programme, the tour offers cultural immersion in Amsterdam, giving the players the chance to explore the city and experience life in the Netherlands beyond the hockey pitch. Team bonding plays a central role throughout the trip, with shared activities that strengthen connections both on and off the field. All of this is delivered within a professionally organised framework, with Holland Elite managing every detail from start to finish to ensure a seamless and high-quality experience.

This integrated approach is exactly what Holland Elite aims to deliver for clubs, academies, and schools from around the world. Touring is not only about matches; it is about development, exposure, learning, and inspiration, both on and off the field.
