What a fantastic weekend we experienced in Eindhoven at the beautiful facilities of Hockey Club Oranje Rood, hosting the U12 Holland Elite Hockey Cup 2025. Two full days of top level U12 girls’ hockey brought together elite teams from England, Northern Ireland, Belgium, and of course, The Netherlands, in a celebration of youth sport, talent, and international friendship.

The tournament began with HV Victoria looking like strong contenders for the title. After taking a commanding 3 to 0 lead in their quarterfinal against host club Oranje Rood, few expected what happened next. Oranje Rood mounted a stunning comeback, eventually winning 4 to 3 and securing their place in the semifinals alongside Belgian powerhouse Gantoise and the English sides HC Knole Park and Surbiton HC.

Last year’s champions Surbiton HC were again impressive and edged through a dramatic semifinal against Gantoise after a draw in regular time and a successful shoot out. On the other side of the draw HC Knole Park battled hard in a tense match against Oranje Rood, emerging victorious with a narrow 1 to 0 win.

The final set up an all English showdown between Surbiton and Knole Park. However, it was clear that fatigue had taken its toll on Surbiton, and Knole Park dominated the final with a convincing 3 to 0 win. After steadily improving throughout the tournament Coach Duncan Parnis and his team lifted the prestigious trophy with pride. “The girls played better and better with each match,” said Parnis. “I could not be prouder of them.”

Surbiton HC, despite the loss, deserves recognition for their consistency, champions in 2024 and runners up in 2025, a remarkable achievement at this elite level.

With perfect weather, a buzzing atmosphere, and plenty of talent on display, the 2025 edition of the U12 Holland Elite Hockey Cup was one to remember. A huge thank you to all participating teams, supporters, and our incredible host Hockey Club Oranje Rood.
